YOFF Home Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a home services business operating in Calgary and nearby communities in Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Information we collect

• Contact and job details you give us — your name, phone number, email address, service address, and a description of the work you need. You provide these when you fill in our booking form, call or text us, or message us on Facebook or Instagram.
• Photos you send us — images of a faucet, toilet, drain, or other fixture, so we can understand the job and quote it accurately.
• Messages — the content of your conversation with us, including messages sent through Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct, so we can answer your questions and keep a record of what was agreed.
• Basic website analytics — non-identifying technical data such as pages viewed and approximate region, used only to understand how the site is used.

We do not collect payment card numbers on this website. Payment is arranged directly with you at the time of service.

How we use your information

• To answer your enquiry and give you a price.
• To schedule, perform, and follow up on the work you booked.
• To contact you about your request — including a follow-up message if you asked a question and we have not heard back, or a reminder about a booked appointment.
• To handle warranty questions and resolve any issues.
• To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your messages to build advertising profiles.

Messages on Facebook and Instagram

When you message our Facebook Page or Instagram account, we receive your message, your public profile name, and your profile picture through Meta’s Messenger and Instagram messaging platforms. We use this only to reply to you as a business and to arrange the work you asked about. Your conversation history is retained so that our team can see the context of previous requests. Meta’s own handling of your data is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to deliver the service:

• Our technician — your name, address, phone number, and job description, so they can reach you and do the work.
• Service providers — the hosting, messaging, and scheduling platforms we use to run the business, which process data on our behalf.
• Where required by law — if we are legally obligated to disclose information.

How long we keep it

We keep customer records for as long as needed to support warranty claims, repeat service, and our accounting obligations — normally up to seven years, in line with Canadian record-keeping requirements. Enquiries that never became a job are kept for up to two years, then removed.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you — just reply “STOP” to any message, or email us. We will confirm your request within 30 days.

Security

We limit access to customer information to the people who need it to do the work, and we use reputable platforms with encryption in transit for our website, messaging, and records. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

Children

Our services are directed at homeowners and tenants. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted here.
